Finding accurate information in a large amount of text can be a real obstacle course. This is even truer when the subject is technical. It can take hours of searching through internal documents, Web sites, laws, and other regulations to find the answer to a question. Valuable time that could be spent on more useful tasks. Fortunately, AI can help.

The advent of conversational agents such as Gemini and ChatGPT has opened up a new avenue. Unfortunately, while these tools are emerging, they are not without shortcomings. They sometimes make up information, and they don't necessarily share their sources (with the exception of GPT 4.0)

chatGPT does not share its source code
AI users are forced to trust chatGPT, since it doesn't mention its sources.

Moreover, the use of these tools inevitably raises the issue of data confidentiality for companies or public administrations. What happens to the elements shared with ChatGPT? Are they used for feeding the AI? OpenAI provides the possibility that this is not the case. However, it is still possible for someone with malicious intent to gain access to confidential documents by hijacking these tools. Although many employees use conversational agents at work, their use for business purposes is discouraged.

In order to overcome these shortcomings of conversational agents, our partner, the Swiss start-up company Innovum has developed Nemo. The tool is designed to be adaptable to the needs of its clients. It offers them a tailor-made solution based on a corpus of data selected by the client:

  • Laws and regulations,
  • Private and/or public documents,
  • Internet sites,
  • Various types of data.

By limiting the scope of the AI, the tool enables the conversational agent to provide accurate and detailed answers. Nemo attaches the source from which it obtained the information to each answer. The administration or company who wants to implement it can also choose the form it wants to give to its interface. In other words, the tool is modular

Finally, the fact that Innovum's services are based in Switzerland ensures optimal security in the processing of its clients' data. They can therefore transmit confidential documents in complete security. They can be sure that they will not be accessible to third parties.

Nemo can be used in a wide variety of different ways. What they all have in common is a significant time-saving potential:

  • Customer service: integrated with a chatbot, AI can quickly and efficiently answer any question customers may have about an organization.
  • Regulation, Governance and Compliance: Nemo is able to leverage various legal and regulatory sources to provide legally accurate responses. Its answers can also incorporate other sources of information, such as case law.
  • Human Resources and Internal Operations: By delving into corporate data, Nemo can support employees in their daily work. It can provide them with trustworthy information to improve their efficiency or their understanding of internal processes.
  • Data Analysis: Nemo can also be integrated with databases to provide advanced, automated analysis. It can also be used to provide summaries of written documents.

By opening up conversational agents to the general public, OpenIA and Google have demonstrated the potential of artificial intelligence. Unfortunately, today's tools - whether they generate text, images, or, more recently, video - have also revealed some flaws. Their professional use requires special caution. This is especially true when it comes to sharing sensitive data with them. With Nemo, Innovum reacts to these deficiencies with a tailored solution.
